Earl purchased this truck used
back in 1995. It came from a Toyota Used Car lot. Love at first site, Earl overlooked the
broken glass fragments covering the dash, the yellow paint all over the four wheel drive
components and the loose steering. (words of wisdom... don't overlook these things -
Bubba)
Post purchase inspection revealed a total lack
of maintenance. The spark plugs were so old that raw fuel was being dumped into the
catalytic converter. This raised the temp of the "cat" which had melted the
front radius arm bushing. A quick tune-up and a new radius arm bushing and the truck was
driving as it should. The next few years were spent driving the wheels off the truck, and
slowly bringing it back to showroom condition!
In 2000, Earl opted to install a supercharger
on the four wheel drive beast. Turns out he purchased the last supercharger that Paxton
would ever build for the F-series 351w setup. In fact, in order to build the kit up,
Paxton substituted Mustang 9psi impellers for the standard 6psi offerings. To support the
extra boost, they also threw in the optional oil cooler. Thanks Paxton! |
